Newbies - Geography - South Central

Home to the Dallas Cowboys and the team's cheerleaders, the Dallas/Ft. Worth area is big on football with its Texas Stadium. Bull riding, calf roping and barrel racing can be seen at the Mesquite Championship Rodeo. Even downtown you'll find ten-gallon hats and cowboy boots worn with suit and ties.

Always take the loops around the city unless you have to go in. Avoid I-30 through town if you don't have to take it to reach your destination. If you are going downtown, plan your route well and know where you're going. If you get off at the wrong place it's not easy to find your way back on to the highway.

Fortunately, most pickups and deliveries are in towns and suburbs around the city. A lot of the companies have yards. These are the best places to park.

The truck stops are always full and some have very rough company. Anywhere a truck pulls in there are hookers to be found. If you're unfamiliar with a particular truck stop, it may not be the place to plan your overnight stay.

Be prepared for delays. There seems to be never-ending construction in and around the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
